Vince McMahon Capitalizing on Covid-19

Supporters behind the WWE are beginning to have their fill with Vince McMahon, who typically doesn’t respect the values of North American consumers that keep the WWE alive. Disappointment and anger were expressed towards WWE after it was confirmed that two T-Shirts would be released. These shirts will target the Covid-19 Outbreak, costing consumers $27.99 with additional fees on shipping. There’s one shirt that reads “I Wasn’t There” and the other states “Too Big For One Night”. Both products are meant for WrestleMania 36, which will become a television event exclusively after the American Government implemented Covid-19 emergency measures.

Those wanting to witness the events at WrestleMania 36 don’t have to wait long. This venue is slated for April 4th and April 5th at 7 pm EST. It’ll be hosted at the WWE Performance Centre and won’t allow for crowds to attend this venue. Those that purchases tickets to WrestleMania 36 will be provided free access to the PPV on both nights. Other individuals supporting WWE will be required to pay $100.00 twice to watch WrestleMania 36 on April 4th and 5th.

This venue was initially slated to be hosted at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. It was forced to be cancelled after the Florida Governor, and American Government demanded that mass gatherings of 10+ people be terminated going forward. This drastically disappointed Vince McMahon, who before these legislative emergency measures, claimed that the XFL and WWE wouldn’t be postponed. It’s suspected that $100 million or more could be lost from the televised-exclusive event.

The Severe Backlash

Vince McMahon and representatives with the WWE have received substantial backlash for their recent actions amidst the coronavirus. Refusal to terminate events saw local politicians consider severe fines against WWE. When it was announced that T-Shirts would be sold in correlation with the coronavirus outbreak, that backlash increased tenfold. Supporters demanded that these products be taken down and that the WWE donate towards relief efforts. It should be mentioned that Vince McMahon has also refused to grant funds towards assisting WWE Communities. He’s also refused to pay wrestlers after WrestleMania, claiming that their contracts demand live matches for their respective funds. There’s a chance that McMahon could be voted out of his wrestling league following this crisis.
