The Best Wrestlers of 2018

2018 is almost in the rear-view mirror and its been quite an extraordinary year when it comes to professional wrestling. We’ve witnessed the incredible rise of Cody Rhodes on the outside of the WWE thanks to his ‘All-In’ journey, the phenomenal return of Daniel Bryan, the resurrection of Seth Rollins career, the Ronda Rousey emergence, and the Chris Jericho adventure in Japan. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the best wrestlers in the world for 2018.

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins undoubtedly takes the top spot when it comes to the best wrestlers of 2018. He managed to make it his mission to get the hottest matches every single time, and he managed to succeed in a very massive way in all of them. He deserves loads of credit for returning after a severe knee injury, relegating to the mid-card and still managed to be the best thing when it comes to the WWE. He managed to defeat both Roman Reigns and John Cena is an incredible Gauntlet Match which is quite impressive, to say the least.

Cody

There isn’t a lot of wrestlers that become famous after leaving the WWE. However, Cody is certainly the exception to the rule. He has managed to become an internet sensation thanks to his character development and phenomenal performances in ROH, frequently participating in 4-star battles. Apart from all his achievements in the ring, he’s biggest praise is as a promoter. Cody’s All-In event managed to sell out in minutes, promising an unbelievable PPV.

AJ Styles

There’s no denying that AJ Styles is incredible. Even though he is in the latter stages when it comes to his career, he continues to provide classical matches. Although he is not the best in terms of talking on the mic, he certainly makes up for it thanks to his quality in the ring. 2018 is definitely not his best year in wrestling, but there aren’t many wrestlers on his level either. He is the current WWE champion for good reason and managed to win over Vince McMahon’s trust which wasn’t possible three years ago.

Johnny Gargano

Gargano is considered the next Shawn Michaels and for very good reason. The NXT talent is remarkable, no one can deny that. His rivalry with Tommy Ciampa in 2018 has quickly become legendary, and one of his matches managed to get a 5-star rating from Dave Meltzer who is renowned as a WWE-hater. Gargano obviously has a long road ahead of him before he can match Shawn Michaels, but he is certainly on the right path to achieve it.

Chris Jericho

The WWE Hall of Famer is enjoying an incredibly creative year this season even though he is getting close to 50. He has managed to prove his worth in the largest wrestling companies and made headlines in Japan where he managed to redevelop himself even further. He is considered one of the best wrestlers in the WWE and continues to shock the world with his insane performances.
